Reports were given on all the various Christmas celebrations which were all well supported and enjoyed particularly the lunch at Test Valley Golf Club. Another lunch is being arranged, this time at BCOT and also in the pipeline are trips to Oxford and Bombay Sapphire. The Spring Council Meeting will take place in Portsmouth in March when Janet Street-Porter will be one of the guest speakers.
There was a bring and buy sale during the evening when many bargains could be bought and the competition for the evening of a local history item produced many really interesting articles.
This year is the centenary of the WI and there are many events being arranged to celebrate this including a baton relay throughout the country. It arrived Hartley Wintney in the mIddle of January where it was passed to Sherfield on Loddon and from there taken to The Dome Café in Brighton Hill where members of local institutes passed it over to Alresford WI.
